Hey,

Firstly i would like to apologise if my thread is like everyone else's. Its just i go to read someones thread and i get lost with all this information so i thought starting my own one would help me understand this more. So i will start with a little background information so you can try you best to help me and point in me in the right direction.

I am a 22 year old Bitish girl living in London and my Fiance is a 23 year old American soldier stationed in Kansas.

He will be shortly getting deployed in June/July for 9 months. So we have decided to get married right before he deploys. It seems like he's next door neighbour (who is from norway) she married a us soldier when she went over for 3 months to visit and he got deployed right after and she managed to end up staying in the states without having to go home and wait for paper work to go through etc.

Now this is something my Fiance thought 'Yeah lets do it this way' then when he gets deployed i would go and stay with his mum in New Hampshire. However i have read up that the US arent really keen on people coming over with the intention of getting marride and staying.

So .. i thought it would just be better for me to go over for the 3 months, For us then to get married and then i return home and file for the stuff i need to file for save up and then move over when im allowed to and hes back from tour.

Now what is the best and safer option for me? ALSO whats paper work will need to be filled out by myself, him? i just need to make sure everything is in line and im trying my best to arrange it all.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!! thank you!!!

The second option is the best option. The first would be fraudulent and you should not consider it. But as a side note, when you go over and get married you would not need to wait to come home first to file everything; you could file the day after you married and so some of the time waiting will at least be while you are over there on your tourist visa.

The second option is what i have chosen and told my SO we should do and he is happy for us to do either way as he will be out the country for 9 months anyways. I guess all we need to make sure of is that the stuff he needs to fill out and sign is DONE and completed correctly before he deploys so that there is no delay. My worse nightmare is for him to be in Kuwait and there is something he did wrong and it cannot be corrected until he gets back.

Start by reading this guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

You need to (once married) file an I-130 along with supporting documents.
