Ok, so we sent the package for I-130 in May and now waiting for 2nd letter. Meanwhile my wife is visiting me in Canada and I have a job here, so we are not in a rush, we were planning to move to Cali in August 2014.

Now, I got an opportunity to actually go and work in San Diego. I will still be working for Canadian company but helping our US folks. Assignment can be anything from 3 to 12 months.

So my question now is, we applied for my immigrant visa from Canada, but will be residing in the US now. I will need some king of work permit to work in the US, even though still working for Canadian company, will this be TN visa? If yes, will I be given TN visa while I-130 pending? Say my assignment is 12 months and by that time I will get my NOA2 and will be invited for an interview in Montreal... Is there any way to actually "readjust" my I-130 to let them know that I am legally in the states now. This is a golden opportunity which I do not want to miss, since we will be living in the city where we actually want to move and all the expenses are paid.

Thanks!
