Ah, I am excited for you! I'm sure it will be a painless process! Have you bought a plane ticket yet?

Of course!! I don't blame you for being nervous. I wish I were the one going to the interview instead of Jake. We did a mock interview over Skype, and the amount of questions he got wrong is scary!! Why are men so bad at remembering dates???

Best of luck to your fiancé!!!

Im traveling on staff travel as I work for Virgin Atlantic so I have bought it but its free to change etc. I have booked it for the 5th of October to Newark, as that's where his parents live and hes going to be in NJ for work that weekend and then we will fly to Michigan together. Unless my visa hasn't arrived then I will just reroute the ticket to Chicago and hop on a domestic to Detroit.

You know what im most excited about? Actually getting to travel together hahaha..I know its sad but I just cant wait till we can actually sit on a plane together after all this time of travelling alone.

What kinda questions were u testing him on? Lol that is soo funny poor Jake I bet he is going to carve those dates into his arm! Honestly im pretty terrible at remembering dates and im the woman! Steve is always reminding me its our anniversary! oops :P

I have my interview date for 23 sept and just noticed I have a CEAC update on 13 Sept, no idea why, all my forms were logged in Aug along with medical. Interview letter was dated 23 Aug and CEAC did not update then.

Odd it updated 10 days before interview.

Hmm that is odd no update on my end here still 27th august. Perhaps they are having a dig around in your file ;)

From what I've read on the forum, the CEAC updates really don't seem to add up to much. It seems as though some people get their interview dates with no CEAC updates and others have CEAC updates with nothing to show.

I think I'm just going to wait and see what happens!

Hello - I am waiting for an interview date as well - but I'm a bit confused by the situation. So I was under the impression that after I received NOA2 and the British Embassy received our package - they would contact my fiance with a package pretty much explaining what he needs to do next and what forms are required of him. We've been trying to get in touch with the embassy in London over the past month to do an address change, but it was hard to get through to anyone that could help.

Finally, yesterday my fiance got to talk to someone!! He said he would set up an account online for him and that he had to fill out a DS-160 online as well as select a Courier service to receieve anything. I'm so confused as to the timeline of things now. I've been following the timeline on the USCIS website as well as Visa Journey religiously and I've not seen anything about this.

Has anyone else been through this?

Is there an updated timeline that mentions this? I'm quite confused.

I think we're in the right direction, but I just want to make sure we're on track now.

As of last week my forms still hadn't been logged although I did receive a email from the embassy on Thursday in reply to a email I sent them confirming my forms had been received and currently being processed and I should expect to receive a interview date shortly however no sign of a ceac update since confirming the logging of my forms ,so not sure what to think but the point is I'm still waiting with over a month past and the depressing part is alot of people on my time line have interviews next week

Hope your process moves along v soon. We're in a similar position to you, forms signed for Aug 21st (4 weeks tomo) and they haven't been logged, sent an email last Tuesday with no reply. As it's under the 4 week mark, I wasn't sure to expect a reply or not, but sent another today. Can I ask, what way did you contact the Embassy? Through the London Embassy website, then selecting 'check fiancé visa status', or did you email to a direct email address?

I'll be contacting them tomorrow. It's so disheartening :(

This is what I don't understand, how some cases can be processed and forms logged straight away, and others left waiting? Not directed at you Kejalladwa, just using your situation as an example, as my forms were signed for by the embassy on Aug 21st, medical on Aug 31st (and that's been logged) but our forms haven't been logged, so I'm worrying everyday thinking the worst, forms may be lost at embassy etc. I sent a revised cover letter on Friday, with additional text in bold stating original documents were signed for on Aug 21st, and can they please advise when they will be processed and an interview date assigned as I'm available 24/7 hoping for our Oct 14th wedding

If it helps at all as soon as I reached the four week Mark they responded to my email asking what date did I send my forms ,I told them and I received a email a hour later saying "please be assured as soon as your forms are logged you will receive a interview date,we understand you plan to marry in November". So I knew they must of looked at my forms to know my wedding date.so it seems they were able to dig out my forms from me telling them the date I sent them.

I then sent another email to get them to confirm they received my forms to which they responded to to say my forms are currently being processed etc

Thank you for this, seeing others in the same/similar position really helps. Appreciate it! Trying so hard to keep positive, but neither of us can focus on anything else. I must be checking my case status update 20 times a day :( lol.

Here's hoping we here back soon, how long did it take for the embassy to reply to your email?

Here's what I sent this morning, hope it sounds okay in the small comment section:

Good morning,

Case number:LND2013XXXXXX

All my completed DS forms and DS-2001 readiness forms were submitted four weeks ago and signed for special delivery (signed by X XXXX tracking XXXXXGB) but upon contacting the DOS every few days, the forms have not yet been logged.

Me and my fiancée have marriage arrangements for October 12th, can you please please advise & help with the arrangement of an interview date ASAP? I am available 24/7 with just a days notice for an interview for cancellations/gaps available.

I hope to hear from you ASAP and greatly appreciate your help.

Many thanks,

Matthew Nickless

I'm sure what you wrote is just fine :-) it took them the five days that the website states for them to reply to me ,but once they email you it's a little easier to contact them as they say to give 3 days for a response ,which it normally is apart from the time they emailed me within a hour

I was the same constantly checking for updates but I think I started to drive myself nuts so I had actually stopped checking untill they sent the email saying my forms are currently being processed and now I'm back to checking again.ice limited myself to once a day lol but I'm actually going to stop checking again for a few days.

I know it's really hard and I'm in the same boat as me and my fiance can't think of anything else either and I know having a wedding date makes it more stressful but just try to limit yourself from checking and keep busy.I've started to sort out things that I'm going to pack to take to try and keep positive /excited about leaving as I found the more I check for updates the more stressed I become

Thank you for this, seeing others in the same/similar position really helps. Appreciate it! Trying so hard to keep positive, but neither of us can focus on anything else. I must be checking my case status update 20 times a day sad.png lol.

What does it mean when people are saying their forms have been logged? I sent all my DS forms about 3 weeks ago and I had my Medical on September 11. So going off what people are saying on here I'm no where near getting an interview date yet.

Is there an updated timeline that mentions this? I'm quite confused.

I think we're in the right direction, but I just want to make sure we're on track now.

You called the misinformation line and hence got misinformation. A K1 does NOT need to fill out DS-160. Whatever idiot you got on the end of a phone line doesn't know what a K1 visa is. Plus you do NOT need to have an account on the online system to get anything from the embassy. That account that they set up may not work correctly and consequently you may need to set up a new one. If the one they've set up allows you to select the "Apply for a K1 Visa" option on it, you're good. If not, then you'll need a new account using a new email account, and if this is the case then in the "NOA2 to Interview" thread there are instructions on how to use the online system.

Packet 3 is a misnomer. It's no longer a packet, just a sheet telling you the locations of the forms online and telling you when you have to file by. That's sent out automatically. If your fiance changed address without setting up a long-term Redirect with Royal Mail then he's going to need to contact the embassy using the online form here: http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html and select "My inquiry is about immigrant visas and not covered by the website". Then explain you need to do an address chang.

Now. Onto what you have to do. First off, you should have your fiance's LND number (your case number from the NVC). He needs this to schedule his medical appointment with Knightsbridge. Secondly, visit here: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html - this details everything you now need to do regarding forms you need to send into the Embassy. When they get DS-2001 and your fiance's medical results (direct from Knightsbridge), then they will give you an interview date (they call this Packet 4 but again, it's just a single sheet of paper).

A word on DS-260 on the Embassy website, though. Your NVC case number is your LND number. But your invoice number is something we don't usually get. You can try putting in your fiance's date of birth (YYYYMMDD) in that field, or you'll have to call NVC for that number. You will also need to print off the "submission" page right at the end and take that with you. Apparently the Embassy needs that to access your DS-260 a bit easier.

"What's yours is mine!"

That's great that your airline allows you to do that as a staff member! I don't think it is sad that you are excited to travel with him! I totally get that! Traveling alone starts to suck after years and years of doing it!! I look forward to that, as well!

The questions I asked Jake were "When did you get engaged?" "When did you first meet?" Things like that.. He knows the 'where' to all the questions, but he sucks with the dates, which is scary!! haha He makes me so very nervous!
