My fiance and I applied for our K1 Visa before we knew he would commit to 1 more year of work... therefore everything has been moving too quickly for us.

Our I-129F has been approved and he has been contacted for the next steps of paperwork, medical exam etc. He tried to call the consulate in the UK but was lost in a mess of automated messaging but really we were hoping he could speak directly with someone.

He won't be able to come here until August next summer... has anyone been able to slow the process down officially? I posted something here before and was told if we just take our time with the paperwork things should work out in time for us.

Just a little nervous since we haven't spoken to anyone that's actually at the consulate and we can't risk having our case dismissed because we did everything too early.

Any help is appreciated!

Funny, someone had the same question yesterday. The responses there may be of use to you: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/452956-delaying-the-visa/

Generally, you can slow down the whole process pretty easily by just being very tardy with your forms. Once you go past the NOA2 expiry, the beneficiary will need to get a new letter of intent from the petitioner.

Nich-Nick gathered up some contact methods to the embassy here recently: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/444950-courier-contacts-changes-confusion/
