Scheduling interview Vancouver?

Sorry to make a separate topic just for this but I couldn't seem to find a clear answer.

Exactly a week ago, last Friday, I emailed Vancouver saying that I have faxed them my checklist and to please confirm that they received it. I also said in that email if they could please send me packet 4 by email. I just got a reply today (finally! I was about to email them again). The reply said that they received my fax and that they are "sending me the information on how to schedule an appointment and interview today". I'm assuming that means they are snail mailing it to me since I got no follow up email. So my question is can I just go ahead and schedule the email since I know they are sending me packet 4?

On the Vancouver consulate guide it says:

Packet 4: Renamed Appoinment Package for Immigrant Visa
A letter which directs the applicant to http://canada.usvisa-info.com to schedule the interview and pay the visa fee. Paid online at the time you book your appointment.

If it is just a letter with instructions on how to do so, can I go ahead and do it?

As for the medical, does anyone have the email address for the local BC doctor so I can schedule the medical too? I know I need to book the appointment first and provide a date.

As long as you know packet 4 is on the way, you should be fine scheduling an interview. Packet 4 just contains instructions on how to book the interview and instructions for visiting the embassy (ie. no cell phones etc.)

Sorry for the double post, I cant seem to edit my topic:s

I just scheduled the medical for Sept 9th. It says I must bring a letter with my NAME, CASE NUMBER, and INTERVIEW DATE. Well on the appointment confirmation email for the interview it states my name and the interview date but not my case number. Is this the letter they are talking about? It says they cannot see someone who doesn't have a letter with those three things on it. So what do I do??

Wow that quick. How long after Cami you had been waiting for packet 4 after you fax up you documents to embassy? Are they mail you letter or send you email.

A week after I faxed the documents they emailed me back and confirmed that they received it. They said they were sending the info to book interview. (so I assume packet 4) Although I asked for packet 4 to be sent by email they didn't, I believe they are mailing it to me. I went ahead and booked they interview though, since I know packet 4 is on the way.

Hmm... Having a letter with all three was never the case when I went, but that was back when you had the medical at Woking.

I would bring the letter from packet three (with name/case number) as well as your appointment confirmation email (interview date).

Or you could try calling the medical office and see what they say. It wouldn't make sense for you to have a letter with ALL three on one letter, since Packet 4 is sending you instructions on how to book your interview.

Sorry I can't help more. Perhaps someone else who has gone through recently can provide more information.
