Hi,

You may want to examine your EAD. If you are a TPS beneficiary and have been issued a TPS-based EAD, your EAD will contain the notation “A-12” or “C-19” under the term “Category" and this would be the correct category for the form purposes."A category (a) (12) EAD is issued to an individual granted TPS under 8CRF 244. A category © (19) EAD is a temporary treatment benefit under TPS pursuant to 8CRF 244.5"

You also want to make sure that you are filing form 1-821 (Application for TPS) together with the 1-765

Another scenario is that you may not even need to apply for renewal if your country falls under the blanket automatic extension issued by DHS. Check out the USCIS website below to see if your country qualifies, just in case you are not aware of this. In this case, all you would need is to make sure that the original expiry date on your EAD is an approved one, and then show a copy of the Federal Register Notice to your employer upon request.

Regarding the office to file, it differs depending on your country of origin and where you reside now. For example, it would be Chicago for El Salvador and Honduras citizens, and Phoenix AZ for Haitians residing in NJ. If I did not mention your country, please refer to the link above as well.
