AOS/I-864 and insufficient funds

Hello

We are kinda stuck at the NVC stage. The most recent request from NVC was that we consider a co-sponsor as my husband lives with me and is earning foreign income (so he placed his income as "zero" in the I-864 form)...however, we also showed that we have over USD100k in assests (in US bank accounts/stocks etc).

Why is the NVC asking us to consider a co-sponsor when clearly our funds are sufficient? Anyone with any experience with this?
