Waiver approved, what is next (London Consulate)

Hi All

My Waiver was approved on the 2nd July. I have received the official approval letter from USCIS. My I-130 petition was through London Embassy and I have not hear from them since. I emailed last week and yesterday I got a response informing that it can take several weeks until they get the approval notification from Nebraska. Does anyone knows how long London takes to send any type of instructions on what I should do next?

Appreciate any help.

Thanks

Well, don't forget they had at least one day closed last week for July 4th and folks tend to take holiday around then, so they're likely less staffed than usual and process more student visas and such this time of year - so it may take a few weeks to get something from them (I assume they need to receive from Nebraska, input you to their system, send out a letter). Do you have a case number for CEAC?

Thanks for your reply. On the official approval letter it says that they have notified London about my approval. I have already received my approval letter via post, so I don't know what is the hold now. I do have a Ceac number and checked. The last update was yesterday, when I received a response from the e-mail I sent.

What is worrying me is because we contacted the new school where our son will be studying and they informed that this year they will start early (1st week August) and we have to be there before the school starts, otherwise, he will loose a place in school.

I'm a bit confused about how far along you are... What have you done and what are you waiting for next?

Have you had medicals?

I have done medical, went through interview back in January this year and my visa was denied due to unlawful presence. Was advised to file a Waiver. Waiver was approved (and I-130 petition on hold waiting for I-601 to be approved). Now it is approved and I need to send my passport to London so they can do the needful. However, I have been advised that London will send instructions?

Ah, okay.

Your medical is likely going to be out of date now (the visa is usually issued with 6 months validity from the date of the medical, you see) so they may require a new one. But I'm not sure with waivers etc.

Have you tried calling the embassy direct?

The medical is valid for 12 months, that's for sure. So I am ok with that.

Yes I called the embassy and they asked me to call the 09 number, which are useless. They gave me a code to e-mail then, which it can take up to 10 days for a reply. So I have my hands tied and I don`t know what else to do.

The medical is valid for 12 months, the chest x-ray is only valid for 6 (that's in the knightsbridge doctor pdf from the embassy website).

Well, the email might be fruitful! I hear they reply faster than 10 days.

I heard about the x-ray too. But I have also heard that sometimes they don't request another x-ray if not long after 6 months has passed. So I don't know if I should just go ahead and book a new medical or not. I am in Northern Ireland so I can just go and do it. It is a lot of money just to get an x-ray done and I might wont need it...so confused!

Nah, don't book a new medical unless London instructs you to do so. You're likely right.

Exactly. We are running low on money with all this immigration expenses. If was was living in London I would just go ahead and do it, but unfortunately is not the case.

So now, I am trying to find out which other way I can contact them apart from an e-mail.

Hopefully they will reply to the e-mail I send yesterday soon.

hi,

We're in the same situation now. i601 waiver has been approved, and waiting to recieve letter from USCIS in the mail - and be contracted by london embassy. how long did that take for you in the end?

would anyone know about 'job transfer' requirement. our councelar officer ( in london, a year ago ) told us that job transfer letter will be required as final step to complete I-130..( if waiver is approved, which it now is ) as I understood this is to prove uSA domicile . what kind of job letter is required? ( it says on our one page form we recieved job transfer ok, job offer not ok ) anyone have examples? is anything else acceptable as proof of re-domicile, such as a lease taken out in USA

thank you!
