Hi,

I have had a citizenship interview at Long Island City, Queens immigration office on July 2nd, 2013. I passed it and my application was recommended for approval. The IO told me that the waiting time to get an oath letter is 4-6 weeks.

What are your experiences? How long does it take on average to be scheduled for an Oath for those who had interview in Queens? OR who had oath ceremony in Brooklyn, NY or Central Islip, NY? I know right now the immigration processes the documents faster. The USCIS website says that Long Island City field office works with Brooklyn courthouse and Central Islip courthouse.

Thank you for your replies.

Here is the timeline for my N400 application:

March 22 - N400 APP sent

April 3 - N400 notice Received

Apr 9 - biometrics notice received

Apr 26 - biometrics taken

May 23rd - citizenship interview notice received

July 2nd - citizenship interview test passed

Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: India

It can depend on the number of people who needs the oath. Considering the fact that it is NY with lot of immigrant population, I think it can happen in a month or month and half. For me in small isolated city in FL, it took only month and half.
