I have a question regarding validity of marriage, USC, married in the Phil, petition and became USC, then after 8 yrs divorce, then found a new love, petition on k1 visa, married here in the US now happily married and wife already a US citizen. My question is what is the validity of his 1st marriage in the Phil. Never filed anything in the Phil, If second marriage decides to live in the Phil, what is the status of their marriage since they married here in the US. Is the marriage to 2nd wife legitimate in the Phil, ? Am confused

As far as I know divorce is not acknowledge in the Philippines... so meaning in the Philippine law you are considered to be still married with your fisrt wife and the succeeding marriages are considered null and void.

However, you can always file for an annulment here in the PI with your 1st marriage to make your record straight...

There's alot of reading materials regarding your... just try to research more....

I am not an expert though but just wanted to share what i know...

Hope for the best!
