It sometimes can take a couple of weeks for them to pick your case back up, then the decision should be immediate. They dont always get around to it the day it arrives by courier, but maybe. I don't expect additional long delays for security with Polish background. You can check online now and kinda get progress. Here https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?

I'm not super clear on what all the status possibilities are because it's a newish thing. I know it may say AP which could just mean it is received and waiting in line, and not the long security AP, so don't freak if you see that. Somebody said theirs changed to "issued" when the visa was printed. Maybe you can check and give us updates on what the status says. When did the courier pick the evidence things up?

Thanks for the link. I just checked and they updated it on the day of the interview and this is what it says:

"Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days." and some more stuff about diversity visa which doesn't apply....

So they will get our stuff most likely on Wed, Thurs..... so we're looking at few weeks... damn... I thought they get it, look at it, make a decision.... top 1-2 weeks.... well we shall see I guess.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Once they receive the stuff which should be this week (courier is picking it up on Tuesday - 6/11) will the status change when they receive it or not until they actually look at it ? ... I guess nobody knows for sure since it's new. I will keep you all posted.

It's pretty unusual for London, perhaps they have a bias if you have Polish names. Remember in other countries, they treat people like dirt (well-documented on visajourney). That, or perhaps the immigration officer recently came from a less wealthy nation where there was a lot of fraudulent activity and as I said earlier, apparently gives them the right to treat people as sub-human by using intimidation tactics, nasty words, and yelling, among others. I'm convinced that some of them get off on it based on what our fellow members tell us and have bad personal lives.

FWIW, most London interviews are, "So you're getting married, great, sign here." David was asked when we were getting married and how we met and that was it.

You know.... I agree with you... I am usually pretty objective and try to look at both sides of the story and all... I interview people for a living and know how this works, know the training they get..... BUT this immigration officer was over the top.... He literally was flipping out .... I understand they have their suspicions, and tactics, they are trained (or some are not) blah, blah, blah..... but this wasn't right...

Ask questions - fine.... let the poor guy answer and explain, instead of saying "forget it" and bark out another question... Then he had a Polish officer question him (my hubby speaks fluent english so that was weird)... Polish guy asked him how we met and if he wants to move to AMERICA - my hubby said he wants to move where I am to start our life together, which is true .... it just so happens that I live here in US... ~ Polish officer was nice/normal, not raising his voice and not ripping paperwork out of my hubby's hands... so I suspect some bias.... I just hope that dude had a bad day, and hopefully he wont be the one reviewing the evidence we're mailing or if it will be him he will be in a better mood.....

I feel you're overreacting a bit here, Eva. You gotta understand, some IOs have gone through A LOT of cases, and this person may have just gotten transferred to this Embasssy from another one that was located in such countries (and maybe Poland is one of them like that- I do not know that) where this is common and people try as hard as they can to beat the system. And maybe this IO knew that people often "choose their kind" and favor them (hence the Polish dude being nice) so he wanted to prevent this. He viewed many applications before you guys, and he may have experienced lot of bad things. I think there's no reason to be upset, or try to justify how this guy was unprofessional. But maybe I'm saying this because I truly believe in basic good of mankind and I always tend to find an explanation of other people's what-seem-to-be "rude" behavior. Anyway, long story short, no need to cry over this anymore. You'll send your evidences in, and hopefully it will be approved. If it won't, if you guys truly love each other, you guys will work this out. Maybe by living apart for a while until you have to take care of your Mom, and then maybe you'll move to UK and will figure in the future that it was the best choice possible. In either way, I wish you guys luck, and lots of happiness in the future, and strength in taking care of your Mom. That is a hard one (I've been there). She needs you and you guys should both understand that maybe this whole "immigration" can wait easily and just focus on making your Mom as comfortable as you can. The rest...will get sorted out. I do believe there's a reason for everything. Just take it one step at a time....you cannot take the whole world with you. :) All the best!

Thanks for your post. I probably am overreacting a little, but that's because I'm just mad... not really crying over it as there is no reason for that. I try to justify stuff like that as well but this was bad. I don't care what country the IO came from or if he didn't have enough caffeine in him on Monday morning or too much LOL ~ He has a job to do and is paid to do it and not have a nervous breakdown while doing it ~ but that's in the past now anyway... done and over with.

We have been living apart for 2 years now and I just want my husband here so I hope the visa will be approved once they get the evidence. We have been taking it one step at a time due to my mom's condition...believe me.... I know things don't happen overnight especially in immigration world. Well let's hope for the best. Thanks for best wishes smile.png

Hello Eva:

Don't be mad, please. That is not good for you, or any of you. And you should more think in a way that he probably has experienced too many bad applicants...yes, we don't see them here, as this forum contains mainly people who have absolute good intentions...but who knows what's out there. You know what I mean. So, you should view it that way. He is doing his job. And some had worse experiences, others have better, and it is hard to know sometimes where is the fine line. He may have crossed it, but he may have crossed it for a good reason. The fact that you guys have been living apart for 2 years isn't a "walk in the rose garden" when it comes to immigration. There's tons, of not billions of people who would do everything they can just so that they can live the United States. This also probably makes your case hard. But I don't know, I don't see in his head, and his thought process. Anyway, everybody is different, everybody handles things different, everybody has different priorities. I, for one, would accept this, focus on current situation, and then let's things work out the way they do. Fingers, and toes crossed for ya! :) All the best!

I think you should wait. We should contact the embassy to know our visa status in two days. I know how it feels becausr it is the last step so you can marry join your love, settle and have a family.

my wedding was postponed because the visa is not yet given. now I am writing and my wedding dress is infront of me :( , I miss my fiance so much and cant wait to get married

I agree with both of the above posts.... It's just super frustrating cuz it is the very last thing that's keeping us apart. I truly believe that after receiving our stuff they will grant the visa.

So yes all fingers and toes crossed smile.png

I know exactly what you're going through. Just hoping it works out for all of us. My hubby's interview went very well, had all questions answered and such, but at the end, hubby was given a 221G AP, but they didn't tell him what he was missing, neither did they tell him what additional documents and such to submit. And when my hubby asked the officer, the officer just smiled and said don't worry (x2). So we are just sitting here waiting for them to update us and tell us if we are missing anything or if they need anything else so we can submit that. I dont know what to do till then. I called DOS and he said the officer should have told my husband what was missing when he gave him the 221G, but the officer didn't say anything, which is why we are confused. He handed my husband the passport back with that letter, without anything else :( So we have no idea what to do next, except wait and see. The officer said they'll get back to us in a couple of weeks and the status online just says administrative processing. I dont know how long it'll take, just praying praying praying REALLY hard that all goes well and smooth.

I actually don't agree. I would be flipping out if someone treated my husband like that. People from wealthy countries like the UK who immigrate to be their partners generally are NOT moving based on fraudulent reasons. London is a low-risk consulate and it's well known for that. Generally, the only people who are given a hard time are from the MENA region, India, etc etc.

In any case, NO ONE deserves to be treated like that. If the IO has his own suspicions, that's completely fine, but you can treat people with dignity. You can tell them you think the marriage is based on fraud, give them the AP, ask them questions, etc, but yelling at them is never okay. This is America, not the Gestapo. It makes me sick knowing this is how America is presented to the rest of the world.

Yes, my hubby got the same exact letter (221G)~ except on his they checked off what was missing and to mail it in with passport, he also was given courier label with our case # on it.... Gosh you must be even more frustrated since they didn't say anything.... ugh.. Yes, I guess wait and see is all that can be done at this point.

So I guess there really is no formula for this... your hubby's interview went good and all and he got the same form... Let's hope both our cases will be resolved soon. Good luck to both of us I guess unsure.png

Well flipping out is not going to help my case but I do agree with you. IO can have his suspicions, ask ton of questions... do whatever he needs to do to make sure this is not based on fraud. But ripping papers out of my husband's hands, yelling, making condescending comments etc is NOT part of his job. It's a job like any other, yes they have to make hard decisions but so do other people at other jobs and you'll be out of your job in 10 seconds if you acted that way.... If he came from a different country where there was a lot of fraud or dealt with a lot of hard cases then perhaps he's not cut out for this job.... if he can't deal with every case separately and cannot handle the pressure... get another job and don't take it out on other people. Simple as that...... that's my whole point, i'm not crying over it nor am I mad at the fact that we have to send more stuff in.... it's the way he acted... if he was civil about it as he should be there would be no hard feelings... Every case is different and IO should treat it as such....
