FNU - Need Help

PASSPORT does not have SURNAME but all other documents had last name and when we submitted the passport page to NVC they said since we donot have SIRNAME mention on Passport and they sent us INTERVIEW LETTER with FNU . Than we called them and spoke with NVC they said ; whatever the name is on Passport data page VISA will be same since SIRNAME is not mention they cannot use my father last name as my last name . My question is will that be any problem in AMERICA at POE or at EMBASSY or can we fix that in AMERICA ?
