Question about naturalization

Hello everyone,

I got my green card when I was under 18 at the same time as my mother who married a U.S. citizen. It's been about three years and I was researching about naturalization and I understand that one has to be a permanent resident for at least 5 years or been continuously married to a U.S. citizen for at least 3 years. I read somewhere that if the child is under 18 he or she becomes a U.S. citizen when the parent files the N-400. But, now I am over 18, so does that mean I have to wait 5 years to become a U.S. citizen since the date I became a resident but my mother only has to wait 3 years? Thank you!

You need have to wait 5 years, while your mom waits 3.
