Here's a list of the items that I'll be sending along for the K-1 visa. I have a few copies of emails and Skype conversations but they are sporadic as my fiancé and I spend most of the time talking on the phone. Is it better to just include a few emails to prove that we've been in our relationship for so long? I'm more inclined to keep the packet short and simple because I don't want overkill with convos and emails, I feel like the proof is in the pudding. :)

Please let me know what you think. Thanks in advance!

4 pages of pictures of us, including a picture of us with his mom and him with my sister and brother in law

Copy of pages from my US Passport to show I visited him twice 2011 and 2012

Copy of Hard Days Night Hotel receipt - purchased by him, Bar purchase by me from 2011

Copy of Mamma Mia Tickets - purchased by him from 2011

Copies of boarding passes when I visited him last December

Copy of pages from his UK Passport to show when he visited me twice 2012 and 2013

Copy of US Airways Boarding pass when he visited

Our "Facebook friendship" - it shows a timeline of places we've checked in together as well as photos and it shows mutual friends, his family and my family

Engagement Ring Receipt

Is this enough?

Sounds like you are good to go. All I included was one photograph, phone records, and the pages of my passport with my Mongolian visa -- I was approved. I think you have plenty more than I did. I would be very surprised if all of the evidence you mentioned weren't enough.

**Good because London will like seeing a few pics in your file. We sent six pics. You don't bring more to an interview in London.

Copy of pages from my US Passport to show I visited him twice 2011 and 2012

Copies of boarding passes when I visited him last December

Copy of pages from his UK Passport to show when he visited me twice 2012 and 2013

Copy of US Airways Boarding pass when he visited

**these are excellent and are what they need. I assume the 2011 is not past 2 years ago? If more than two years, then doesn't meet the requirement so not necessary to send.

Copy of Hard Days Night Hotel receipt - purchased by him, Bar purchase by me from 2011

**also shows meeting in person if your names appear on your separate receipts at the same hotel, same date. Make a note on the photocopies. "John at HDN hotel, Liverpool on [date]" "Mary at HDN hotel, Liverpool on [date]"

Copy of Mamma Mia Tickets - purchased by him from 2011

**just tickets don't show you were together or both attended unless names are on them. Did you take a photo together in front of the marquee?

Our "Facebook friendship" - it shows a timeline of places we've checked in together as well as photos and it shows mutual friends, his family and my family

**a nice summary. Not hard proof but nice.

Engagement Ring Receipt

**probably not necessary at all, but okay if you want to send it.

Is this enough?

Yes, I think you have enough to get approved. It proves you met which is the main proof they are seeking, well that and that you are a USC (birth certificate) , and both are free to marry and intend to marry (two letters of intent).

Thanks for all your help - I'll leave out the Mamma Mia tickets even though they have his name on them we should have taken a pic outside the marquee! Oh well...in the scheme of things, that part isn't really going to matter.

The visit in 2011 was June 2011 so it's almost 2 years but not quite...

I'll label the hotel info...the bar purchase receipt just shows the last 4 of my credit card, so I just made a copy of the card I used and blocked out the first 12 numbers...

I do have signed letters from both of us saying that we are free to marry and intend to marry once he enters the US with the visa so we should be ok there!

I just don't believe in front loading with convos and emails when the factual proof is there...did you send any of those when you originally sent your stuff?

I did not send emails or chats. We talked on the phone or did video conferencing. I think you have the same attitude I did. I mentioned the photo at Mama Mia because we took one outside "The Sound of Music" in London. Another proof I used was his credit card bill and my credit card bill. I highlighted with yellow that we both made transactions at Harrod's on the same date. I have always made notes on my evidence in red Sharpie what I was showing as well as using a yellow highlighter to zero in on the important part...name, date, location or in this instance, a transaction. Your credit card photocopied on the same page as the receipt is good.

Good luck. Once you're done with sending off the petition, join us in the UK forum for London specific details about the next part. Each consulate has different procedures and vibes.
