Acta Inextensa Issue Marriage certificate

we submitted our visa application three weeks ago and when they reviewed it Friday, they say the marriage cert (long form) is not the original and it does not have some seal or stamp on it.

it is the original it says ACTA INEXTENSA DE MATRIMONIO on it. it does not have any seals on it. it has a bar code with the signature of the judge.

I am not sure what the heck they want. The lady at NVC spcifically asked for the ACT INEXTENSA long form. which is what I sent. now we are held up for that.

Any idea what they want? I called and they said they are setting it up to be reviewed again. I told them I need to speak with a supervisor who is supposed to call me who knows when.

My wife is ready to go and visit the civil registry office in Santo Domingo (dominican republic) and get a certified copy of the same thing. At least it will have stamps or a seal maybe.

she has a marriage certificate that has pretty colors and stamps seals etc etc but it is not the INEXTENSA, it is the extracto or something?

I mean cant these people tell me what they want? Very frustrated.

never mind! her aunt forgot to get it certified when she picked it up. I didnt know that it needed to be. I mean its an original document. Not sure I understand.

Is a hassle just relax and be patient.........Is a long and hard process. I have not started mine yet........But will soon...I wish you the best in your process
