I'm filling out I-485 and it asks for my Nonimmigrant Visa Number. Is this the 14-digit "Control Number" on the top right-hand corner of the visa, or is it the 8-digit number stamped in red ink on the bottom right-hand side next to the "Annotation"?

Or is it something totally different?

Help!

Never mind! I got my answer.

FYI to those who may want to know in the future: it is the 8-digit number in red.

Actually, either number can be used, either is acceptable.

Welcome letter arrives

Email stating "I-485 card production ordered"

12/01/2006

Email stating "I-485 approval noticed mailed"

12/07/2006

Email stating "EAD approval noticed mailed"

12/04/2006

Email stating "EAD card production ordered"

12/04/2006

Green card arrives!!!

12/09/2006

EAD card arrives.

(Wasted $180 because green card arrived first)

(remove conditions 08/2008)
