Petition for my wife

Hi all,

I have been searching the web for a few days and still have some questions, but thanks everyone on this forum for all the help so far.

I'm applying for my wife, I'm a US Citizen, naturalized, and we married 2 weeks ago.

Questions:

1 - Can I translate my wife's documents?

2 - Can I use my wife's passport pages instead of her birth certificate? (no need for the translation then).

3 - My wife came to US legally and currently is still legal, but when we married she took my last name, should I put the new last name on all forms? Since here in the US she only has the Marriage certificate with the new name, all previous passports from our country and visas were issues with old last name.

4 - I'm a little confused with the i-485, it says I can send it with the i-130 but I need the medial exam right before sending it?

4 - Another question about the i-485 once I get the exam done can I just send it or I need any confirmation from the USCIS?

5 - Most of the sites say you need "Copy of" do they mean just a copy I can do at home or a notarized copy?

2. You need her birth certificate

3. Well, she should be able to change her name on her passport by going to the consulate of her country with her name change. I'm not sure whether this has to be done before filing though.

4. Yes, so you wait until you are done with the medical and then send I-130 and I-485

4. You just send the sealed envelope

5. You can just copy it at home

I am still wondering about the first question, I've been finding conflicting information online.
