I am a US citizen. My wife is getting ready to apply for her US citizenship. I was married before and have two children from my first wedding. This is first wedding for my current wife. I have specific question about Part 9 in N-400. Following is what is indicated in N-400.

PART 9. Information about your children.

A. How many sons and daughters have you had?

B. Provide the following information about all of your sons and daughters.

My questions are -

(1) In this section the information to be filled in is of my current wife, correct?

(2) My wife did not have any children of her own before or right now. My children are her step-children. What number she can fill-in for A?

I would appreciate any guidance. Thank you.

She is filling out the application, not you, she must list all of her children, natural, adopted, and stepkids. Your kids are her stepkids, so she must list them.

Wife was told at her interview, none of my kids would automatically become US citizens when she did because they are already US citizens. She was told her son was not eligible because he is not living here, then she was told her daughter was not eligible to automatically become a US citizen because she just turned 18.

So I am gathering the whole purpose of this section is to see if any of the kids will automatically become US citizens, (without proof of course), when she did.
