Hello All,

Those who have/had interview recently in India for F2A or in any other immigrant categories - did you have to take a separate appointment for a finger print and photo at the OFC? I googled it a little bit but it looks like it's required for non-immigrant visa as it's asking for DS-160 bar code. Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks,

As far as my knowledge goes, per new system IV applicants give FP, photo and interview at Consulate. Only NIV applicants have to take two appointments-one at OFC and second at Consulate.

Guys who had gone to Mumbai Consulate-update us.

Yes, you are correct. I have verified this information with a customer representative at the US consulate in Mumbai.

Did you also ask them if we need to submit the documents 15 days before the interview-it was a old practice. Now the applicants take all materials with him/her to the interview and do not require to submit it to drop off location.

Please confirm with me.

Thanks

Yes, I asked about this as well and they told me that nothing needs to be submitted before the interview and we need to carry all the originals and photocopies of our documents to the consulate directly on our interview day. The steps are outlined below once you receive the IL:

1) Create your profile and add a delivery address

2) Schedule for a medical examination

3) Go to the consulate on a day of interview

4) Pay the USCIS fee after interview is done and before traveling to the US.
