I have recently filed an I-129F Petition for Fiancée, and I am a resident of Tennessee. I sent my application to the Texas Service Center, which is where I am supposed to send it based on the instructions for the petition. I just received my I-797C, Notice of Action (1st Notice of Action) and it says my application is being processed at the California Service Center. Is this some sort of an error, or did they just do that to expedite the process?!? Is it fine that I live in Tennessee (Texas Service Center territory) and my application is being processed in the California Service Center, or will this cause delays in the future?

stratmba,

The transfer is normal. Only two actual service centers currently process I-129F petitions, California and Vermont.

Although Texas and Nebraska Previously processed I-129F petitions, they were consolidated to California and Vermont, yet they have not streamlined the process eliminating the internal transfer.

For the time being, one should follow the instructions on where to mail the petition.

William33,

Thank you for your response!! I didn't know that only California and Vermont processed the I-129Fs; I was actually a little worried, so thanks for relieving my stress!!
