I am USC and have filed DCF in India-Mumbai for my wife who is beneficiary. I am planning to attend the interview with my wife once she gets the interview scheduled.

My question is - am I allowed to attend the interview with her ? and is it a good idea(I mean will it have positive impression on consulate officer ?)

Thanks

-Raj

It's generally a positive if the USC can attend the interview. If you are not let inside (don't know Mumbai's policy), your spouse can let the interviewer know that you are there & waiting outside.

We'd appreciate anything you can document about your application and what was required residency-wise. The question on people's minds is: can you DCF with less than 6 months of living in India?

Thanks. I plan to attend interview and my guess is mumbai shd allow me once I show them my US passport to let me go inside.

I have also posted my DCF filing exp at Delhi in the thread link posted below. Resi. is requirement. I think min 90 day stay is required...than its up to them...if they are satisfied than they can accept. In my case, I have been staying in india for a year...so they didnot have any confusion...
