I sent my DS-156 forms and DS-156k to the embassy 21 days ago. I had not heard anything from them so yesterday I decided to email them. They responded the same day saying they were ready to conduct the final step in my visa process. They informed me that I could schedule an interview and schedule a medical exam. I went to ustraveldocs.com/sv which is the only way to schedule an interview in El Salvador and I only saw one date available for an interview in El Salvador in February. I am very happy but if I had waited another week before contacting them I would have not been able to schedule a medical exam in time. As it is I have to run around hoping I can schedule an exam today.

Does anybody know why there is only one date available to do an interview? If you have sent your DS-156 forms do not wait for them to contact you. Wait a week at most and email them because they will never send you a letter.
