AR-11 Fingerprint Identification Number

Tara and I just moved. We are filling out the AR-11.

Tara came over on K1 originally. She never got a FIN number that I know of.

I checked the I-94 and there isn't one on it.

She has her green card now.

Do we fill out the AR-11SR or AR-11?

The one other thing that is weird is that her green card is set to expire after just 2 years.

I thought we were through with this stuff.

Thanks... :help:

She is a conditional permanent resident so you need to lift conditions before the green card expires,.. Isn't AR-11 a change of address form?

Yes, the AR-11 is the change of address form.

It asks for a fingerprint identification number.

Sorry it wasn't a well written post. I was frantic at the time trying to find the information after doing several searches.

You need to register your wife's change of address using the AR-11. You (and any other sponsors of your wife's I-864 if they should move) need to submit the I-865 to register your change of address.

As long as your wife's green card was issued before your 2-year wedding anniversary, she correctly received a conditional permanent resident card valid for 2 years. You must apply to remove conditions of her residence after 2 years (see the VJ guides for more info). If her application is successful, she will then receive a 10 year permanent resident card.

You guys so rock again.

One last question.

They mailed us a AR-11 SR to confirm the address change. Wouldn't we file a AR-11 and not an AR-11 SR?

It seems the AR-11 SR is for the change of address of special registrants. I'm sorry that I don't know what that means. I do know that when my husband and I moved, I filled out the I-865 for myself and the AR-11 for him, and have confirmed the change with USCIS.

Maybe someone else can help you with the AR-11 SR. I don't know why they would have mailed you that.

After doing a bit of research I have no idea why we would file the AR-11 SR.

I read that this only pertains to those from certain countries.

My wife is from England.

That's why she never received a FIN.

I just don't want to make a mistake on a simple form.
