Another I-864 Question

On the I-864 question #18 states "My individual annual income is currently ____________"

and section #19 asks for income listed on the IRS statement sheets.

I understand how to answer #19, since I just have to put the income listed on my last tax form, but what do I put on #18. The letter I have "of offer for employment" states that my annual income will be $XX,XXX per year. The number is much more than what my income tax statement from last year is because I changed jobs and started with the company in March 2011.

Do I write the annual income stated by my employer in #18 or should I put my last IRS income there? I make more now than what I did in 2011.

Thanks

My question numbers do not match up with yours but I'll help how I can. I'm using form I-864, Affidavit of support under section 213A of the Act. Now there are different versions of the I-864 so you may want to make sure you are supposed to be using the same as me. I do have question 23 under part 6 that asks for my "Current Individual Annual Income." Under here I chose my current salary. There is also a question 25 under part 6 that asks for my "Federal tax return information" where I was able to list the last three years. I used my total adjusted income amounts for the years 2011, 2010, and 2009, found on my IRS Form 1040. All three years were different than my current income.

There's an example form on this site I used to find a few answers. Just go to Example Forms at the top and "USCIS Form I-864" under "Adjustment of Status (Green Card) Related Forms." Its a little outdated but it matched up with my form.

Hope this helps

We are using the I-864EZ

It just asks in #18 what your current annual income is.

Then #19 asks for the income listed on the last three years worth of income tax statements.

Yes, I did look at this example, thanks. They have the current income matching exactly what the most recent tax statement is. So it still isn't very clear... I am thinking that I should put my current income as being what the "letter of offer of employment" states. I mean, that is what I am making, I just didn't have a full year of work with them in 2011.

In that case I would do what I did. Current income is what you are making right now. 2011, 2010, and 2009 will be whats on your IRS form 1040 from the last three years tax returns. Mine even mentions using the number on IRS 1040.
