Hi,

I changed my address online with USCIS. I can't remember if my application was already approved before I changed it. I think it was! Anyhow, the consulate has already sent out a package 3 to my fiance and we already have a case number and she has collected all the required documents and is about to submit it to the embassy.

This morning I got this notice from USCIS:

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On October 3, 2012, your address was changed relating to the I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) that you filed. Please check our website at USCIS for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

Initial Review? Am I screwed? Did they just reset my 129f all over again?

We haven't gotten an interview date but my fiance is submitting the package 3 now!

Please help!

Thank you

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like USCIS standard "boiler-plate" -speak. I believe that the pearl of the message is that they are acknowledging receipt of your change of address (COA). They cannot re-set something that they no longer have.

Remember that your approved petition/file was already handed over TO the NVC at the Department of State (DoS) FROM USCIS at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), for the next step in the process. The COA from you (petitioner) was placed with USCIS. Your fiancee (beneficiary) has been contacted and received information from the interviewing consulate/embassy at DoS. This portion of the visa journey is about and information from the beneficiary, not necessarily you, the petitioner. It sounds like all is going well. Be sure to use your new address when filling out new forms required of you.

Review the forum's K-1 Flow Chart for details, accessible at the top of the forum page by hitting the "Guides" tab.

:time: It enables folks to give you more-focused responses based upon your information. Additionally, it helps everyone that uses this forum.

Happy trails on your visa journey.
