Hi All,

Thank you for your help in the process. I got my citizenship lastweek.

I am going to apply for passport, but I am little confused.

The website clear states

Submit Form DS-11: Application For A U.S. Passport In Person

You must submit Form DS-11 in person at an Acceptance Facility or Passport Agency

But, when I go to the website, it clearly states

Schedule an Appointment at the Boston Passport Agency only if:

You need your U.S. passport in less than 2 weeks for international travel

You need your U.S. passport within 4 weeks to obtain a foreign visa

Where can I apply if these requirements do not apply to me?

These requirements do not apply for me, the page where it is directing states that I can apply and send from local post office.

I am little confused here. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

If you do not have any urgent upcoming travel and do not need your passport immediately, you can apply at a local US Postal Office. Check the usps.com website for the nearest post office that processes passport applications. Some post offices require that you call ahead and make an appointment. So call them before going there.

You only need to go regional office if you need passport less than 2weeks. Those for people who needed expedite their passport. Just go to local post office and apply for passport like mine. Please remember to go there early because they only take certain applicant per day.

Great thank you for your quick answers. I was checking this website

http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_830.html

1. Fill Out Form DS-11: Application For A U.S. Passport

2. Submit Completed Form DS-11 In Person

3. Submit Evidence of U.S. Citizenship

4. Present Identification

5. Submit a Photocopy of the Identification Document(s) Presented (Step 4)

6. Pay the Applicable Fee

7. Provide One Passport Photo

I need to send the actual Naturalization document and not the copy correct ? (Since, I get little nervous about sending the actual document :))

Yep, the post office will take your original naturalization certificate and send it with your passport application. So make a copy of it before your application.

The Department of State will first send your passport. The certificate will arrive in a later mailing most likely a week after, so do not panic when you do not see your certificate in the envelope together with your passport :)
