wife applying for us citizenship.. does she need to fill out part 7

my wife is applying for us citizenship..

it has become 3 years..

on n400 part 7 asks "time outside of united states"... so prior to 3 years she was outside of US... do i list that also?

Read the questions on the form about travel, addresses, work history etc. as "last 3 years" when applying based on marriage to US citizen.

Read them as "last 5 years" if you apply based on the 5-year residency rule.

This is awkwardly phrased. The USCIS tried to find the dumbest person to do the job, and this is where they succeeded.
