It depends on the accuracy of the information you've provided in the forms. The fastest I've seen the NVC process the application is one week, and I've also seen it still in pending status after 30 days. You'll see samples of other people's paperworks by going to the Immigration Timeline in the above menu (top of this page). The whole idea is in being accurate with your documents and information you'd provide them. Otherwise erroneous or missing information would result in RFEs, which you would have to provide them to their satisfaction. Hope yours get done in a week after receipt by the NVC.

I presume that your child is not a US Citizen or a child of a US Citizen so you should fill out one for you and one for each child immigrating with you.
