Im planning on going to the Ankara embassy with my fiance when he gets his interview date. Ive read about people who got permission to go in with their fiance by emailing the embassy.

I heard it can help get approved, and I can see why when it seems the ankara embassy really doesnt have many problems approving k1 visa, but they do very often give green slips for more proof of relationship and with me being there with him, the odds of a green slip of almost none haha.

I just wonder..when should I start contacting the embassy bugging them to give me permission to go with him? Cuz I know you have to contact them a lot over and over again to get responses. Also will they just give permission if I just state our case number and such and say can I please go with him?

Any info would be great!

I can understand wanting to go with him. But I would make sure you just work on putting together a stronger file and talk a lot about your past and anything that might be an issue at interview. They rarely grant via email for the fiance to join. And even then it's a battle at the door. So keep trying...but get everything else together too.

Ya I understand that..I really hope I can get in with him also cuz I worry his English wont be good enough to understand the terms they use while asking for paperwork and about getting in the right area and stuff..I speak turkish so we speak turkish a lot..he knows English but for a common convo. I'm just another worried fiancée ! And I lived in turkey for two years and we were neighbors so we don't really have anything on fb or any msnger ..only a bit. We have so many pictures but I understand they don't like pictures much. I never thought I would need anything like these things while I was there! We texted all the time but we can't get records of that or even call records. I have records of calling since I came back to the us but not much. I'm hoping our engagement party pictures, my turkish residency permit, turkey entrance stamps and other picture will be ok ..along with the few things I have from chat from a while back. :(

I think I had the original idea to do this back in 2009. I had the idea to get permission first. SO i emailed the embassy a few months in advance and they told me I could go inside with him and so I printed it and took it with me. Then I told everyone else to do it lol, so I dont know how much they do this anymore, but it is worth a try. I was not going to be allowed in, but took that email with me in case. Good thing, becasue they took that email from me in line showed to someone and then OK'd me, but I was that close from not being allowed in. The CO did end up asking me several questions as well. Good luck!

Also, when she answered if I could go inside in the email...it was more of answer like "I dont see why not" type of answer, but I ran with it LOL

I would each write a letter to the CO that you never believed you would need evidence of your relationship, so you did not save so many receipts. Maybe get the parents in Turkey to write statements about your relationship. Dated and signed. I've heard this can work too. My husbands English was not perfect at interview either. He asked for questions in Turkish and to answer in English. But he got a really tough chick and she grilled him hard. She asked many in English with no clarification. He just reiterated in Turkish her questions if he was unsure and she would then clarify. I think your fiance will be ok.

Im also still going to try with all my might to get permission to go to the interview with him! Im just a little OCD maybe haha,

I feel like I always need to do everything and be there cuz my fiance is not the most organized guy. :P

Anyways thanks so much!! I hope I get as lucky as you two!

You can write the letter, as well as your fiance, I have limited evidence as we lived our day to day lives in love and in the moment. We did not consider evidence of relationship while living our lives. Affidavits from family in Turkey would really help also.

They don't allow it but like everyone else said you can try. They are limited capacity since they are dealing with Iraq people too. I tried it to get inside but they didn't allow me. I dont think you will need to worry about he getting lost or have problems there because they give basic instructions. Good luck
