Question regarding my I-485 form

Hi,

I recently got married and am preparing all my AOS documentations. I have a quick question regarding my I-485 form. I am holding H1B work permit currently. It actually was expired on 8/28/2012. I did submit the renewal application in July to USCIS and is still pending now. My lawyer told me that it will take 6-9 months to get the result. So when I fill out I-485, it asks my current status and expiration date. Should I just put the actual date on it? Will I get any trouble with this? I have the receipt from USCIS for receiving the renewal application. Should I add this to my AOS filling package?

I will really appreciate if anyone can help me on this.

Thank you.

Regards,

Amy
