In preparing your packet, please take note of the following:

Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled.

Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.

The use of tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. The tabs should be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing.

Avoid using heavy-duty staples; instead use ACCO fasteners or heavy clips.

Avoid submitting originals unless specifically required. Avoid submitting oversized documentation when possible.

My question is it says use ACCO fasteners and two hole punch the top of the material.Do they mean the top sides or the top of the page. Cant I just use a three hole binder? Are these rules set in stone?

I didn't hole punch anything or use ACCO fasteners. I just used paperclips to hold everything together neatly. Do NOT use staples of any kind. Also, I didn't use tabs either, I just made sure everything was in order according to my cover sheet. If you do decide on hole punching and ACCO fasteners, the holes go at the top of the page. In my case however, I didn't have a single issue just using paperclips. Also, when submitting photos, I also placed 4x6 photos in a ziplock bag (with names, date, location, etc. on back) and stapled the bag to a standard sheet of paper. Everything went well that way, so there's my two cents! Good luck with your application! :)

Thank you very much. My girlfriend told me to just put the pictures in the ziplock bag. I have everything I need and more I just want to make it as easy as I can for who ever receives my packet. I will just use paper clips.

Regarding the USEM Interview

jenniferjones101 user_popup.png is 100% correct

I used the fasteners, and had it all layed out correctly... Little did i know u have to rip the whole thing apart and hand one person this and another person that...

In hindsight I'd have paper clipped forms separately with little sticky notes... so its easy to find and easy to hand out
