My wife, like I have found out now was not in the US consulate office in Puerto Plata. She was at a lawyers office who has been instructed by the Santo Domingo US consulate, for trying to detect any fraud.

Anyone heard of this?

Thanks for clearing this up. Fraud in the Dominican Republic is high, so this doesn't surprise me. Just be truthful. Also protect your information and marriage during this process. You don't want to many hands in your business. My suggestion to you is communicate with your wife as much as you can about everything. Get her here and try to avoid any drama, especially from those who may be envious of your relationship.
