Hello Everyone. I am from Philippines, married for 5 yrs this year to an American citizen. I just would like to ask some guidance and help regarding our situation. My hubby has been unemployed for the past 5 yrs but he went back to states last April and got a job a month ago. We want now to start our papers, we started gathering requirements already. His brother is willing to be a co-sponsor. We just so confused where to start. My questions are: Do we need to write a letter explaining to them about my hubby's travel and staying here in my country, his present address? Can anyone provide a sample of what the cover letter about? Do we also need a witness affidavit of our marriage aside from our marriage contract? Your response is highly appreciated. Thank you very much. By the way, do you think being a licensed nurse in my country is a big factor but I am unemployed right now. I just passed the local licensure exam for nurses and I am processing now to take the US exam for nurses. Thank you again for your help. There are times before we just think that better to stay here in my country but the problem is we are not financially stable at this moment. The important thing now is that we need to be together because it is not very easy to be apart and we need to work together that is why I took up nursing get a job one day there and at the same time help those who are in need of my care. Please enlighten me and my hubby. Thanks and God bless.

By the way, I found samples of a cover letter. My question is do we need to write in the cover letter an explanation of my hubby's travel here in the Philippines? Because every year for the past 4 yrs, he will come here and visit me and stay here for 3-4 months. Do you think we will be question where he got money to travel here? that is from his savings and the help of his siblings and living here in the Phils is not expensive especially we are living at my mom's house. Do we need to write everything in the cover letter the explanations? Thank you

sorry, I just reread it and found some error. For the past 4 years, he visited me here in my country and stayed for 3-4 months once a year. But his first stayed here, took about 1 and half year and decided to go back to states.
