Hi All,

My husband's Interview at the Mumbai Consulate is next week.

Today I got an email from the Consulate informing me that they were closing early due to potential demonstrations and protests due to the film that is causing so much problems here.

My question is, has anyone ever had the Embassy or Consulate close on the day of their Interview and if so, how was your Interview re-scheduled?

  • Did you have to request the re-scheduling of your Interview?
  • Who did you contact for that?
  • Was it difficult?
  • Was it postponed for long?
  • How soon till you could get it re-scheduled?

I'm getting a little bit worried that the Consulate may close down on the day of our Interview.

All of this depends on BIG "IF" EMBASSY IS CLOSED

You worry too much... I can understand it is a big unknown till you get the visa.

Please plan to go to interview as scheduled untill you were told not to come to the interview and Embassy is closed.

These are unexpected conditions on which no one has control...

As far as your questions - Don't have any answers except to keep in touch with VFS after your interview is cancelled due to closure of The Embassy..

Hi

Your case is very different from others...if someone (for example "me" but thats true ;) unable to submit documents at VFS office and do not visit Consulate office on Interview Date because of any reasons...then the Applicant becomes "NO SHOW" applicant. Then applicant need to reschedule his/her interview...For example (again "me") got second interview date after two months...

But your case is not being rescheduling because of yours non availability...This is uncertainty and you will get same kind of email from VFS for new interview date.

However, please be calm and just wait...and please also listen news about this protest...Mumbai is very high alert area now these days, so many of us do not think that consulate office will be closed early. They have just warned but not given any notice that you do not need to come that day...You please prepare yourself from your end.

Thanks
