I did a forum scan and couldn't find an exact answer. Please don't move this to a region forum since it applies to those non-residents/citizens of Dubai who need clearance. If there is a more appropriate place for it though, feel free.

So this is what you find on the website: http://www.dubaipolice.gov.ae/dp/jsps/content/flat-content.do?contentCode=73851

Beneficiaries:

UAE Citizens and Residents those who are residing inside or outside the Country. An Applicants must have a minimum of 6 months residency in the U.A.E.

My husband is neither a resident or citizen. Does this mean prior residents or only current residents outside the country temporarily are the only ones who can get it?

At the bottom of the web page is this

Note: from abroad, you will not be able to complete the payment process.

Uhh...then how do you pay? I'm confused

And on the application it ask for:

* Job:

(As per your residence stamp)

So the bottom line is, I'm confused. My husband had a job in Dubai and resided there for a total of 13 months, but left the country to his home in Egypt (where he maintains his permanent address) for 2 months during that 13 months total. So in actuality he did not 'live' there for a solid 6 month period. I am not sure if we even need it though I prefer to have it, if its possible to get, to be on the safe side.

Can we get this Good Conduct or is it only for people currently in Dubai?

Sherlock RFQ Holmes has found the answer herself thanks to another post about reciprocity somethin or another. (I have no idea what a reciprocity means)

On the UAE reciprocity page it states:

Police Records

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

isA someone else will find this helpful in the future
