How do I get a police clearance letter/certificate? I called my local police department and they said they don't give them out unless we get an official request from the agency requesting it. Will I get this at some point in time?

Next, I sent in the payment for the AOS on August 2nd, 2012... will I be receiving a package following this payment? Or do we just send in all of the info according to the website? We are doing this with no lawyer but some legal consulting so I feel like I'm going to go crazy with paperwork and miss something super important.

Lastly, about how long (in your experience) does everything take after the AOS and IV Bill? Estimated time until the interview? My husband is originally from Mexico and we're going though a CR1 visa. Thanks so much for all the help!!

Police records are not required for the US or Mexico unless the applicant has a criminal history in either country. See this page and the Reciprocity by Country tables: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#police

If there is an arrest history, then the local law enforcement that oversaw the arrest should be able to give you records. Otherwise, they have nothing to give you.

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter
