Today I called uscis customer service and told them we had applied for our son's N600 a little over 2 and half months ago and had received the receipt letter with the NBC receipt number but had not been able to look up status online. Talked to a nice guy, just a level 1 customer service guy I think. He said N600's usually couldn't be looked up online and since we had received our receipt letter that should mean that it had been forwarded to our local uscis office and they usually processed it there. He said no reason to worry and if we didn't hear anything in about another 2 months to call back, since the regular processing time for Louisville is 5 months. He says he knows not being able to check status online is cause for alarm but its not cause for concern with N600's. Does this basically sound like all is fine and going good? I guess we wait. I'm not even sure he (the customer service representative) was able to "see" it online, he didn't say he could but he didn't say he couldn't. Maybe it's too early to be hopeful. Thoughts?

You worry too much, calm down :). They didn't even spoke to me when I called at same stage, they said to call when it will be 5 month. Yes, I think silence means good, the process is moving, only you can't see it; and maybe your worry means what they work on your case right now.

Thank you MayLiana72 for being so kind. We already have the US Passport, and updated his status with the Social Security people to show that he is a citizen, but I want to get him the N600/Certificate of Citizenship in case he ever needs it. Waiting on this from USCIS just worries me and I don't even know why! I guess I just worry that I forgot to send something, or that it will get lost or forgotten, or never get processed for whatever reason. I pray that it all gets processed and approved quickly and smoothly.
