HOW ACCURATE ARE EMAIL RESPONSES FROM US EMBASSY COMPARED TO PHONE RESPONSES?

This is what happened. My fiance called today to inquire about my visa and to raise our concern regarding my name spelled wrong on my fiance's petition which has already been corrected by the USCIS.(Long story short, after my name has been corrected, we still got the NVC Letter and Appointment Letter with my name spelled wrong which caused us to think and worry about which name will be followed on the VISA STICKER. The beneficiary's name on the petition or my name on the passport?)

Anyways, during the conversation that my fiance had with the person over the phone, he was told that my visa has been issued on Friday, the 17th and told him not to worry coz they always follow the name on the passport. He also discussed with her on which among my two names needs to be corrected, on his petition, he spelled my name as Shenny Shinky, when it's suppose to be Sheenie Shinky. From what it seems to me, his conversation turned out fine coz the person he spoke to assured that they had it corrected and they always follow the name on the passport so it was a relief to us.

Now, here's the crazy part, 2 hours after my fiance's call, I got an email as a response to the email I sent yesterday regarding the correction of my name. What shocked us is that this time, the email response stated that the visa under the name of Shennie Shinkee has been issued on the 17th. I was like, what in the world? Where the heck is that Shinkee coming from?

This leaves both me and fiance confuse as to who believe and can't avoid but ask, how reliable are the answers via emails or through the phone? How accurate are the answers given to us? Which is more reliable? Answers over the phone or answers via email?

Anybody here who had the same experience or atleast almost the same?

both are accurate...the ONLY different is if you call them you talked to them same day. but if you email them it takes up 7-10days to get a response.

about doing the name correction did you guys send them a letter to make changes?

anyways maybe your fiance should used infopass to get an appointment with his local USCIS office to get things corrected.

also, everytime you guys speak with an operator..always ask for their name/id/or any identification to have a proof that you guys did call them. indicate the time and date too.

**PLUS FOR YOUR SECURITY NEVER PUT YOUR REAL NAME/INFO TO ANY WEBSITE** instead just used an example.

goodluck!!!!!

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

In this case, I question the accuracy of the answer I got through email. I don't know where on earth they got that "SHINKEE" coz I am sure none of my papers nor my fiance's petition indicated a name spelled like that.

Anyways, the email I got today was the answer of the email I sent yesterday. Basically, I did not wait 7 days for an answer coz I was answered today. That same email response was received 2 hours after my fiance made the call. Sadly, my fiance failed to ask for a name/id/ or any identification. So this becomes a confusion, which is accurate? The email or phone answers?

Also, my name has been corrected long before our petition approval. My fiance called the USCIS, 15 days after my fiance called, we received another NOA with my name spelled correctly. So, an appointment to a LOCAL USCIS office was no longer needed at that time.

And oh, the name I mentioned above isn't my real name. Those are just examples.
