Biometrics in Kansas City

Hi all,

Just had my biometrics appointment at the DHS office in Kansas

City. The appointment letter said to be there for 9am, but I didn't

get fingerprinted, etc., until just after 10am. When I got done, the

DHS employee said my EAD would be sent out in about three

weeks.

I was very skeptical about his three weeks comment until I

got out to the car and the people who came with me said they

overhead one of the immigration lawyers saying that everything

seems to be moving a lot quicker now in terms of AOS/EAD.

Apparently, they said that it's taking three weeks for AOS to

be completed at the moment.

Firstly, I don't know if the lawyer really meant AOS, or if, like

the DHS employee said, the EAD. Secondly, was the lawyer

only talking about cases being processed in the Kansas City

office? There seems to be some evidence on this forum that

AOS transfers to CSC are getting approved very quickly and

without an interview.

Still, I'm very cautious when it comes to hoping that the DHS

are processing cases a lot more quickly. It seems that anything

to do with immigration takes forever. Anyway, I'll be interested

to see what happens.

Has anyone else heard anything like this?

Good luck to everyone!
