On Visa it states, "upon endorsement serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year"

On a separate page its written, " Carry the packet, all of your original documents and you X-Ray with you to United States.

Then on an another page it states,

To: All Immigrants and refugees

From : Social Security Administration

Subject: Social Security Numbers for All Family Members

By Law, each immigrant or refugee admitted to the U.S.A must obtain a Social Security number.

1. DO NOT OPEN THAT PACKET! keep it as perfict as you can put it inside of another packet so it does not bend or get damaged.

2. BUY your ticket to USA. look on emirates i think they have some good rates, right now the prices went up but wait for another week or so they will probably come back down. (BWI) is the airport you should be going to unless you can find tickets cheaper somewhere else and its close enough.

3. Pack your bags! (your spouce should be more helfpull in this catagory)

and start counting down days to your departure.

I'm not sure if you have already left yet, but if you haven't then just prepare yourself by packing and getting ready for arrival at the airport. At the airport the security can hand search everything in your suitcases and bags and they are even allowed to open your computer, camera, etc. They will just check that you don't have evidence of any illegal activities (looking at your pictures, checking internet search history, videos you have watched, etc) and that your suitcase reflects the contents you would expect a spouse immigrating to the US to be carrying (ordinary items). They may not search absolutely everything so intensely but they have every right and power to do so, don't freak out if they do. Just stay relaxed and calm because in a few more minutes you will be entering the United States officially. :) Congratulations! Have a good future :)
