Hello fam,

Trust u all doing great.

I would help some help and education here.

I filed for a K-1 visa for my fiancée in Ghana on the 17th of January this year 2012 and I haven't heard from them. I called a month ago and I told they are now working on applications dated 16th January.

I keep checking my status and it's still on  initial review.

Can anyone help or advice me on what to do since it's taking long. Nearly 7mths now. Wow!!!

Thanks fam.

I agree 7 months is a long time especially considering its not even gone to NVC and the US consulate. Most take about 5- 6 months at that stage but then again they could be backlogged and it could be any day now.You can call the 800 number but the customer service people are of little use.Just hope and pray it comes quick.

It could depend on the Service Center. I filed our petition on 1/23/12 and we FINALLY got an approval on 6/14/12. Ours was sent to the California Service Center. I think it can also depend on the individual worker who was assigned to review your petition. You can always call the USCIS and give them the receipt number that came with the NOA1. Good luck!
