OK fellow CDJers, a few more details:

Lots and lots of waiting. I'm not sure what time he got there - probably around 7:30 because they don't open until 8:00. He had to show the appt letter, pass through security (they made him throw out his keychain - how weird is that?) and then sit and wait on the "patio". Waited till their called him and had to show/sign the forms - DS-156 + supplement, proof of visa payment fee, medical, passport, photos and the financial support information, but they did not ask for the updated letter of intent from either of us. He wasn't sure which financial information she wanted so he gave her everything I had provided and she said she would take only what she needed. I included the notarized I-134, letter from the bank, 401K statement, paycheck copies + 1 original and 3 years of tax transcripts with W-2 and she kept everything. So it's impossible to know if all of that was really necessary or not. At some point he had to get a pass to leave and get new photos taken and then return.

Then he waited to be called to give index fingerprints. Then to the next building where he had to wait until there was enough room to be let in. Then waited to be called for an interview. He said she asked about 4 or 5 questions - how we met, if he had every been here before, if he had kids. She didn't ask any questions about our relationship or ask to see any relationship proof or photos. Then told him he would have to come back to file the waiver.

So aside from being tired and hungry after a long day of waiting with tons of other people, it was very easy.

Phew! Glad to say I didn't throw up - just started to get worried the later it got!

Saludos, muchachas(os)!

Still waiting impatiently here and worrying, of course. Just wanted to let you all know that I have Vonage which works through the internet (you have to have DSL/broadband). I only pay $20.00/month and get 1500 minutes for outgoing calls and a virtual Mexico City number..that's right!...My honey calls me all the time, basically for free...just like calling a local Mexico City number. He usually calls me from his home because if he uses his cell, it uses his minutes, of course. I can't call him this way yet. I want him to get DSL and Vonage there so we can call his family when he gets here (without a calling card). I printed out all of our phone calls...which is really easy to do...and it shows that we talk for several hours every day. Hope this helps some of you.

the latest paychecks that he has from his current job, the bank letters, a recent house valuation from earlier this year, AND his tax information from the last 2 years, do you think this is a good idea?

Emma - I would take all of the above and not mention the new job - it's not really relevant since you are providing the paycheck stubs and prior year tax returns.

E & K - you should be fine with that. Might want to bring bank statements as well. Bring original paycheck stub.

Thank you girls! that's what we'll do. Allie, thanks for the idea, I wasn't planning on bringing the bank statements, just the letters, but I think you're right and I'll bring them too.

KK, any news!!!

Well girls, I am finishing up my Hardship letter and I have a couple of questions.....If my fiance's waiver is denied I will have to relocate to Chilpancingo, Guerrero. Does anyone know where I can find out about Health Insurance, Jobs or Housing there so I can use it for my letter?

My fiance says there is no jobs or available housing there, but I want proof of it as evidence. Could I just have him write a letter stating there is nothing or can we use the proof that he has been there since May 2006 and still has not been able to find work?

I know I'm a pain but I don't know of any people better to ask then my Mexico Sistas hehe :luv:

You can try using the local newspapers for the housing and the job information, the "avisos de ocasion/clasificados" section usually covers these two areas. Your fiance can scan a copy of the Sunday's section for you to include. You can also try looking up on the internet, some newspapers have websites too. I found these sites that might help you:

http://www.computrabajo.com.mx/

http://www.diariodeguerrero.com.mx/CGI-BIN...show_avicla.php

You can also try using the statistics/figures from the government website : www.guerrero.gob.mx

Hope this helps....

Allie - calling movistar worked, but I'm not sure how much I paid since I use Skype Out and I didn't pay attention to the dollar amount. At least it worked!

Hi everyone,

Woo hoo, I received my letter from the NVC today in the mail, saying they have sent my stuff to CDJ. The letter is dated Nov. 6th, so that's the date I put for NVC received (although it's more like the day they sent it out to CDJ, but then again it is hard to know the exact date they received it at NVC). Now another month of waiting for the darn fiance packet.

Does anyone know what happened with kk's fiances waiver. Did they allow him to submit it?

Hi girls, it's me again. Are we able to track where our packet is through the website www.dhl.com to see if NVC already sent out to CDJ? I had read about tracking it, but it was someone who went through an embassy in Colombia, here is the thread

Nevermind, I think I got it, but the dhl website takes forever, so I will try later. I just wanted to see if CDJ had received it (oops that's what I meant to say in my previous post rather than "to see if NVC already sent out to CDJ"). You really can't find out about your particular case, but you can see when NVC forwards bulks of petitions going out to CDJ.

I never bothered with trying to track it - I assumed that CDJ doesn't participate in that or doesn't actually provide accurate information (given their track record!!!)

BrendaBeaux, congrats again! Don't worry - you'll be fine. Just bring lots of evidence of when you returned to be safe!

Waiting, you'll get the packet shortly after they send it b/c they send from El Paso. Your fiance, on the other hand, will probably never receive it so you'll want to scan and email him the appointment letter.

Everybody's moving along . . . YAY!
