In our culture, a baby is usually given a name months after it's birth.

Thus, my wife doesn't have her name on her birth certificate. Her birth certificate is a army hospital record (small blue colored card with only her fathers name, date & time of birth, place of birth on it, and the army emblem on the front)

Would that be sufficient?

That may not work....

They must have gone back to same hospital and updated her name on it.

They can do it now too...

Check out the place of birth on her passport and go to the same city "Birth/Death registrar office" and register her name there.

She has to go and get her birth-certificate updated with her name. I also had my original birth-certificate with no name, but I got it updated.

Do two things :

1) Update the Birth Certificate

2) Get Affadavits from Parents , Grand Parents and someone who was present at the time of her birth certifying that it is the correct birth date ..

From my past experience , This will save from any further queries i know atleast regarding birth certificate

If she has school records showing her name, date of birth and her parents names that exactly matches the birth day and parents names on her birth record, you can submit those school records as backing evidence to the nameless birth certificate.

That's what we did as the hospital that my husband was born in is no longer there and the local governance refused to update his certificate because of it.

We also got affidavits from his family members supporting his birth, day and name. We're in the waiting for the interview date stage and have had no issues with this evidence so far.

Hope this helps! :)

All of the post have great answers... if you are unable to get her birth certificate updated.

If your wife can have her Birth Certificate updated, it will be much easier and not a big packet to prove her age (only Birth Certificate)

And also, there is cut off date/year (I think it is 1970 or 1971), you have to have Birth Certificate after that date. Or you can say it is best way to prove your DOB.

Please let me know if I am wrong about "cut-off date".
