Question Regarding Renew Passport & Passport Clearance

my husband had interview in Nov 2011. since tht his passport under mandatory process.

now problem is this embassy ask for new Passport Clearance which one Expire on June 28th.

his passport issue in 2008 after 1 year we got married. last time when he apply for PC they did not ask him for Married or Unmarried.

but now husband go to passport office for new PC. they ask him is for Married or Unmarried. he said for Married.

the officer told him if you want get married PC then you have to Renew your passport because old passport don't have your wife name on it & if you want get unmarried then you can use same passport.

now my question is this if we use old passport show tht on PC he is unmarried there gone be any problem?

if we renew his passport there is any problem because when we apply for it we use old passport copy's to submit to NVC also passport No# and file no# gone be change or stay same on new passport?

please help me out guys. i am so confuse.

his police clearance gone be expire in next month on 15th do we need to renew tht one right now or wait for embassy ask for it.

jazz88, but only the application asks for marital status is not on the actual PCC right? If is not on the PCC then I say just renew it as single, but then again is up to you. You can always get a new passport if the embassy has any problems with this one. The PCC office gave you the option to do it one way or the other, that's what they told my husband and he got as single, we didn't have any problems but then again we are in AP since May 9th.

Is up to you how you want to renew it, some people in India forum said they renew the passport in a couple of days so it will not take that long -you can ask in the India forum.

Application & PCC ask for martial status both gone have that. that's the main problem. if application just ask for it there is not a big deal but which PCC we gone take from passport office the one show that you are married or single.

so we asking to all my relative there is not a big issue if we renew his passport with married status embassy don't gone have any problem.

i usually read on internet some people expire there passport when they are in under AP & embassy ask for new passport when people send it they got there visa. so i don't think so embassy gone have any problem with new passport.

we are planning to submit new passport & passport clearance on friday.

so i just want to know do i need to submit old passport with new passport or new passport would be fine to submit.

or with new passport & old passport copy.
