We are at the waiting on embassy interview stage of our i-130.

I haven't started looking for jobs in the US, but I updated my LinkedIn profile to reflect I would be moving to the US in the late summer this year.

I was contacted by a major player in my field who were interested in me as an employee, and they are aware that I do not have my residency yet.

I have had 3 phone interviews so far which all went well, now they want to fly me in for 4-6 onsite interviews.

My problem is what other than the usual stuff (apartment, ties to home country) can I use when I am at the poe in the US.

Anyone have any experience with this?

My preferred order would be. Interview in US > embassy interview > move to the us.

The company is, if all goes well, also open to paying for my work visa instead, but at this late point it seems foolish to me. (we just passed the 10 month mark and spouse visa seems better)

My thought at the moment is inform the employer of the situation, so they know I may be turned away at the airport.

Get as much proof that ties me to my home country at the moment.

Take the chance and go to the interview, hope it goes well and have them offer me the job once the i-130 is all approved.

Any thoughts?

Hei there,

One suggestion is to schedule interview at embassy a month ahead of the interview. Before your embassy interview, travel to the US to have your job interviews, take your embassy interview letter(a copy of it) with you to show at POE if they ask more for proof. That along with your NOA2 and other ties of course.

Good luck/held og lykke.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days
