The State Department website says that civil documents in the language of the consulate/embassy where the case will be adjudicated do not have to be translated. However, I have seen alot of VJers comment that it's best just to get them translated anyway just in case.

Send as they are but I would have them translated after the interview and before traveling to the US. It is cheaper to have them all translated there in EGYPT but expensive to have it done here in the US. You never know when you might need them here in the US and it helps to have it ready.

I agree!!! Although I didn't submit translations to NVC, I had the hubby get his docs translated. The marriage certificate was done already, obviously, for the initial USCIS stage, but now everything else as well... I also recommend getting school transcripts/diploma together (even though that wasn't needed for NVC), for when your spouse is here looking for a job. Probably useful.
