interview date

Good morning VJ,

I have been calling DOS and NVC to find out if my case has been received in the embassy in Santo Domingo since it was sent out May 9th. However, they keep telling me it hasn't, and that any information I need to know in regards to my interview date I have to call the embassy, but I really don't feel like paying $7 each time I call so they can tell me it's not there yet or to wait for packet 4 (which my fiance may never receive). Is there any other way to find out, or just keep speed dialing the NVC or DOS until they tell me something new?

Thanks guys

Hey I found this lynk from one of the members here, hope this help:

For you to get valid information just wait 1-2 weeks after receiving your NVC notice and call (toll-free) to the Visa Specialist (Department of State) in Washington D.C. (202-663-1225). Press Option 1 then Option 0 to speak to a visa specialist. (Do not waste your money calling the Embassy or Mexico Hotline number). The Visa Specialist will tell you when your case was mailed to the beneficiary and when your interview (Cita) date is scheduled.

Yea I did just that. And they still tell me that the embassy has to tell me all the information. And when I call the embassy they tell me it will be on the packet 4. But my fiance may never receive this packet because of where he lives. Thanks for your help tho

Hi,

Same thing happened to us. But post is correct! Keep calling NVC and get a visa specialist, you will get the date. Call embassy in a week or so just to get date to pick up packet 4. I received packet 4 after my fiance picked his up at embassy but he never received his through mail. I had to call the embassy($7) to get date for him to pick it up at embassy in SD. You will have about a month to prepare from the time you get date from NVC. Keep calling so you can get that date cause he will need to get police cert and medical and police cert only good for 30 days!

You can also check the Embassy site for appointment dates. You will need your SDO #. This is the site: http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/scheduled_appointments.html

They put the date up pretty late but doesn't hurt to check there also.

Here is a site you can use to help you in this part of your journey. It was put up by MrTee12: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/358563-what-to-do-after-receiving-your-noa2/ It's very helpful.

Good luck!

thanks a bunch! I just called and they told me that no date has been scheduled, which means they have received it. I guess it makes a difference on how we ask the question because I finally heard something different. God willing I have atleast a month to prepare. thanks for your help :)
