Anywhere between 3 months to 2+ years as there are few cases that's taking sweet time.

If you want a yard stick, mine is 10 months and counting.

But generally, half a year or so depends on how strong your evidences are, where you file and the most important, how lucky you are.

What's going to happen is, once they received your I751 application, they will send you a "Notice of Action", we call that NOA. This letter extents your expired conditional GC for one year.

If somehow your I751 application is taking longer than one-year extended period the NOA granted, all you have to do is make an InfoPass and goto the local office, which they will stamp an I-551 on your passport for another yearly-extension, while they goof off on our tax money.

But hey don't let my case scare you, a lot of ppl got it approved in a few months. Like I said, have a very strong package. If you end up receiving a "Request For Evidence" (RFE), that's a guarantee your application is going to take longer than usual.

Bottom line, as of now, normal processing time is half year, slower is 9 months, anything longer than a year is abnormal.

So cross your finger and wait.

Politics. Let's just leave that out if you not sure what I meant there.

I suggest you browse around this forum and look at threads about evidences, even RFEs. You will learn what to get, prepare and avoid mistakes to ensure your ROC (I-751) application is butter smooth.

You live in NY, so you will file ROC to Vermont (VSC). If everything goes smoothly, it will take 8-10 months counting from NOA date.

Just be patient ....

Wow it takes some time. But anyway not too long. Thanks for the reply. However, I got a long time before I start this process with my wife

Finally we all three together. We are happy :)
