Your First Movie Together?

I was just in the Philippines and I wanted to take my sweetheart to a movie... Star Wars I - Phantom Menace is released in 3D. I just about fell out of the Jeepney when she told me she had never seen Star Wars <<PERIOD!>>.

I never had to explain Star Wars backwards before (Episiode I to correlate with Episode IV) It was quite interesting when she didn't know what "The Force" is. I invite you all to try that.

What was your first Motion Picture together and what was her reaction?

It was actually the other way around.

I went with my fiancee to see "Treasure Island" that came out in the Philippines at the beginning of July 2011.

When I first saw that they cooked the gay guy and was eating him then crying while they were eating. I was about to die laughing out of my chair.

A lot of Filipinos walked out on that part either they found it insulting or disgusting.

Meanwhile,

She went with me to see the american movie "Paul" and she loved the movie. It was funny and interesting. Also it had no limits and she was surprised.

There hasn't been one yet, but my fiancee also has no idea what Star Wars is, or Star Trek either for that matter. I'm wondering if I should sit down with her and start watching every Star Wars movie in the correct order, followed by all 5 Star Trek series, every episode. Yeah, probably not a great idea to try to watch every one.

Actually, the first thing I'm going to take her to see when she's here is Blue Man Group.

First movie we watched together was Tower Heist starring Ben Stiller way back in November. Honestly it's difficult to catch up american movies without english subtitles so I had to ask my fiance a lot when characters in the movie talk really fast LOL.

I suggest you let her watch Episode 4, 5, and 6 and never let her watch the first there because they are an abomination.

If I know filipinas, she will find jar jar binks hilarious, but Americans find him annoying.

My wife had never seen Star Wars either, So we had a movie marathon. I got her to watch all the good movies, Starwars, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, and more! She really enjoyed them , i guess star wars wasnt a big deal in the philippines

Walking around one of the malls in Manila, we saw a DVD store and went in to look. Looking through the DVDs I picked one I knew she'd like...Ghost. A couple of hours later we were back in our rented condo watching it. At the end of the movie, she slapped me on the shoulder as tears rolled down her face and said (lovingly) "I hate you!" hahaha. She loved the movie and has shown it to some of her friends.

We watched Manny Pacquiao fights and other essentials like Hearns, Leonard & Hagler, Tyson, and Ali of course - long before we saw any movies together.

She says the first movie was Hannah Montana. Mostly we watch horror movies though. Backwoods slasher stuff.
