Hello, me and my fiance from the Netherlands started the K1 visa process back in December 2010. It made it through and we got the NOA 2 that it was sent to the consulate in the Netherlands. In October 2011 she had received the letter that she needed to send in some documents before the interview date can be set. We have not taken action on getting those documents together as of now because we wanted to hold off. We began to think more on her finishing school in the Netherlands since it would be more affordable for her.

What I am wondering is how long the case will be open and if within a certain amount of time of no contact with the consulate that the case will eventually be closed? We would like to keep this option open since it has already gotten so far. Thank you for any shed of light on this.
